Literacy Services of the Alisal Community Healthy Start Family Resource Center include the Plaza Comunitaria basic education program for Spanish-speaking adults and out of school youth.
Elementary school and Secondary school:
- centered on the person who is learning
- structured in independent units around a topic or learning intent
- present a variety of elective study topics for different population sectors
- Recognition of and integration of existing knowledge and experience;
- Recognition of and integration of existing knowledge and experience;
- Enrichment of knowledge with new elements that are useful and meaningful;
- Strengthening ability to search for and manage information for ongoing learning;
- Reinforcement of basic reading, writing and mathematic ability, oral expression and understanding of natural and social environments;
- Bolstering abilities, attitudes and values to participate in democratic life to improve and transform their life and that of their community in the context of responsibility and heightened self-esteem.

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 9:00 - 11:00 A.M.
Monday, Tuesday and Thrusday 11:30 - 1:30 P.M.
Monday and Wednesday 6:00 - 8:00 P.M.
Tuesday and Thursday 6:00 - 8:00 P.M.
